Hydration VS Moisture
Have you ever wondered about the difference
between hydration and moisture when it comes to your hair? Does your hair look frizzy and dull? Or does your hair lack luster? Hydration refers to water and moisture refers to oil. Hydration works on the inside and moisture works on the outside.
Hydration helps keep the hair’s cuticle smooth. Hydration is all about absorbing and retaining water. Every type of hair needs hydration. If your hair puffs or frizzes in humid weather, your hair is dehydrated. Adding oils will not fix the problem.
Moisture pertains to your outer layer. Sealing the hair with oils help regulate the water so it does not evaporate from your hair too quickly.
If your hair is dry and seems to be soaking up the oils or is lifeless your hair is dehydrated and needs hydration. Deep conditioners are needed at least once a month to keep the hair hydrated. Depending on how often you shampoo your hair, deep conditioners will help your hairstyles last longer. If you wear braid styles, you should deep condition your hair before every braid style.
Great read! Now, I want to research this further.
This is definitely great information, and much needed for me and my current hair situation 😉
